Section 296-806-42526 - Safeguard pallet jacks and hand trucks

(1) You must make sure motorized and nonmotorized pallet jacks have a lock or other device that holds the handle in the vertical position when the hand truck is not in use.

(2) You must make sure hand truck casters are set back from corners. Locate them back from corners so they do not present a hazard to employee's toes and heels, but not close enough to cause the hand truck to become unstable.
