When the conduct of any teacher or employee of the Public Education System violates the standards established by law or regulations, the Secretary of Education shall take the necessary corrective measures, following the procedure hereby provided. Verbal admonition, written reprimands, suspension from work and pay and dismissal may all be considered. The suspension from work and pay as well as dismissals shall be notified in writing, by certified mail, to the teachers or employees of the Public Education System, indicating the findings of fact on which they are based.
The Secretary of Education may remove or suspend any teacher or employee of the Public Education System from work and pay for just cause, and upon prior bringing of charges, in writing, after holding an informal administrative hearing.
For the purposes of §§ 274 et seq. of this title, the violation of the provisions of §§ 274 and 274-2 of this title, among other similar matters, may be cause for suspension from work and pay or dismissal.
