Section 221:17 - Authorized electronic rendering or facsimile of signature of clerk; signature of assistant clerk

An authorized electronic rendering or a facsimile of the signature of the clerk of any court in the commonwealth, imprinted by him upon any writ, summons, subpoena, order of notice or order of attachment, except executions, shall have the same validity as his written signature.

The name of an assistant clerk of any court, followed by the designation "assistant clerk" shall be a sufficient official signature.

Amended by Acts 2022, c. 175,§ 47, eff. 11/8/2022, app. to estates of homestead arising or created before, on or after the effective date, except with respect to subject matter of any final judgment to the contrary by court of competent jurisdiction in an action commenced prior to said effective date.
