Each patient shall, at a minimum, be afforded the following rights:
(1) To be treated with respect, consideration and dignity.(2) To privacy in treatment.(3) To have their records kept confidential and private.(4) To be provided information concerning their diagnosis, evaluation, treatment options and progress.(5) An opportunity to participate in decisions involving their health care.(6) To refuse any diagnostic procedure or treatment and be advised of the consequences of that refusal.(7) To obtain a copy or summary of their personal dental record, pursuant to T.C.A. §§ 63-2-101, et seq.(8) To have appropriate assessment and management of pain.(9) To be free from mental and physical abuse. Should this right be violated, the dentist must notify the Tennessee Department of Human Services, Adult Protective Services or Tennessee Department of Children's Services immediately as required by law.Tenn.
