Rule 25-A1502 - CLEANABILITY - FOOD-CONTACT SURFACES
1502.1

Multiuse food-contact surfaces shall be:

(a) Smooth;Pf
(b) Free of breaks, open seams, cracks, chips, inclusions, pits, and similar imperfections; Pf
(c) Free of sharp internal angles, corners, and crevices; Pf and
(d) Finished to have smooth welds and joints. Pf

Multiuse food-contact surfaces shall be accessible for cleaning and inspection by one (1) of the following methods:

(a) Without being disassembled; Pf
(b) By disassembling without the use of tools; Pf or
(c) By easy disassembling with the use of handheld tools commonly available to maintenance and cleaning personnel such as screwdrivers, pliers, open- end wrenches, and Allen wrenches. Pf

Subsection 1502.2 does not apply to cooking oil storage tanks, distribution lines for cooling oils, or beverage syrup lines or tubes.
