§ 252. Acquisition of property

The Governor of Puerto Rico or the Secretary of Agriculture of Puerto Rico is hereby empowered to acquire, in the name and in representation of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, either by purchase or agreement, or through the exercise of the power of eminent domain, or by any other lawful means, any property title or interest in any properties that may be necessary or fitting for the carrying out of projects for the protection of hydrographical basins and flood control, and such properties or interest are hereby declared of public utility for all legal purposes. The title to or interest in such property acquired by donation shall not be subject to the provisions of §§ 1101–1108 of Title 3. The procedure for condemnation of any title to or interest in such properties shall be governed by the General Law of Eminent Domain, §§ 2901–2913 of Title 32, and other suppletory statutes.
