§ 764. Land for coffee and tobacco substations—Acquisition of land and equipment

The Director of the Agricultural Experiment Station of the University of Puerto Rico is hereby empowered to carry out, subject to the provisions of the preceding section, the leasing or acquisition by purchase or expropriation, of lands for the establishment of the said coffee and tobacco substations and also of the seed distribution farms provided for in §§ 763—769 of this title; to construct the necessary buildings; and to acquire the necessary equipment for the said substations and seed production farms; Provided, That the Chancellor of the University of Puerto Rico is hereby empowered to, on behalf of the Higher Education Council, enter into lease contracts and to accept assignment of parcels of lands for the establishment of fruit seedbeds and nurseries.
