Section 303-X-2-.04 - Inactive Status Certification
(1) Any person licensed by the Board as an electrical contractor or as a journeyman electrician may elect an inactive status certification by notifying the Board in writing or by properly completing and submitting the form provided on the Board's website. This notification must be received by the Board at least thirty (30) days before the license is due to expire.
(2) Only active licenses may elect inactive status; an expired license is not eligible for an inactive status certificate.
(3) To qualify for inactive status, a licensee must not be actively engaged in electrical contracting or any electrical activity requiring an electrical license.
(4) The fee for the issuance of an inactive status electrical contractor certificate and for an inactive status journeyman electrician shall be determined by the Board.
(5) To reinstate an inactive certificate to an active license, the licensee must pay the appropriate renewal fee and provide proof of satisfactory completion of seven (7) hours of approved continuing education for each year of inactive status.
