Section 303-X-2-.03 - Renewal Of Licenses And Continuing Education

All applications for renewal of any license issued by the Board shall be filed with the Executive Director prior to the expiration date, accompanied by the annual license fee prescribed by the Board.

(1) The Board shall issue renewal notices to each licensed electrical contractor and journeyman electrician 30 days prior to the expiration of the license, such notice being sent to the last known postal or electronic mail address on file at the Board's office. Board may elect to send notices via regular U.S. Mail or by electronic mail.
(2) All electrical contractor licensees are required to complete fourteen (14) hours of continuing education every two (2) years.
(3) The Board shall set the minimum standards of continuing education for any license issued by the Board and may establish and adopt education requirements for each license category. The Board may also approve the program or programs providing education to fulfill the requirements.
(4) If a renewal application, accompanied by the requisite annual fee, is not received by the Board prior to the license's expiration date, a late fee is established by 303-X-2-.06 must also accompany the renewal application. If one year has passed since the expiration date and no renewal has been applied for, renewal of the license is not an option. The licensee must apply for reinstatement of the license in accordance with 303-X-2-.05 after one year and before 5 years have lapsed since the license was due to be renewed.
