Section 9-1-611 - Division of criminal investigation; created; definitions; director; appointment; qualifications(a) The Wyoming division of criminal investigation is created within the office of the attorney general.(b) As used in this act: (i) "Agent" means an agent of the division;(ii) "Director" means the director of the division;(iii) "Division" means the Wyoming division of criminal investigation;(iv) "This act" means W.S. 9-1-611 through 9-1-627.(c) With the approval of the governor, the attorney general shall appoint a director who is the chief administrative officer and chief agent of the division.(d) The director shall be a professional law enforcement officer, experienced in modern methods for the detection of crime and the apprehension of criminals. He shall possess the qualifications of an agent under W.S. 9-1-613 and shall have a thorough working knowledge of criminal law and the law of criminal procedure, including the law of arrest, search and seizure and interrogation of criminal suspects. The director shall possess other qualifications required by the attorney general.
