Section 577e - Approval by National Forest Reservation Commission for acquisition of additional lands

Lands shall be acquired by purchase or condemnation under the supplemental authority granted in section 577c of this title only with prior approval of the National Forest Reservation Commission created by section 4 of the Act approved March 1, 1911, as amended, and lands so acquired shall become parts of the Superior National Forest and be subject to the provisions of said Act, as amended, and of such other laws as apply to land acquired under the provisions of said Act, as amended, except as hereinafter provided.

Section 4 of the 1911 Act was repealed, and all functions of the National Forest Reservation Commission were transferred to the Secretary of Agriculture, by section 17(a)(1) of Pub. L. 94-588, Oct. 22, 1976, 90 Stat. 2961.Said Act, referred to in text, means act Mar. 1, 1911, ch. 186, 36 Stat. 961, popularly known as the Weeks Law, which enacted former sections 513 and 514 and sections 515 to 519, 521, 552, and 563 of this title and amended sections 480 and 500 of this title.
