Section 63.024 - Petition to Create Single-County District(a) To create a district located wholly in one county, a petition signed by 25 of the electors, or if there are fewer than 75 electors in the proposed district, by one-third of them, shall be presented at any regular or special session of the commissioners court of the county in which the land to be included in the district is located.(b) The petition shall include:(1) a request for the establishment of a district;(2) a description of the boundaries of the proposed district, accompanied by a map;(3) a statement of the general nature of the improvements proposed;(4) an estimate of the probable cost; and(5) the designation of a name for the district which shall include the name of the county.(c) A deposit of $500 and an affidavit stating the qualifications of the petitioners shall accompany the petition.
