Section 321.402 - Deadlines After Petition(a) After the receipt of a petition for an election under this chapter, the governing body of a municipality shall determine the sufficiency of the petition within 30 days.(b) If the petition is sufficient, the governing body shall pass the ordinance calling the election within 60 days after receiving the petition.Added by Acts 1987, 70th Leg., ch. 191, Sec. 1, eff.
