Section 351.007 - Space Requirements(a) A county jail cell designed for one person only must have a clear floor area of 40 square feet or more.(b) Any other housing area or day room in a county jail must have a clear floor area of 18 square feet or more for each prisoner to be confined in the area or room.(c) The ceiling height above the finished floor in a cell, compartment, dormitory, or day room in a county jail in which prisoners are confined must be eight feet or more.Tex.
