Section 1054.051 - Appointment Of Guardian Ad Litem In Guardianship Proceeding(a) Subject to Subsection (b), the judge may appoint a guardian ad litem to represent the interests of an incapacitated person in a guardianship proceeding. (b) A person appointed as a guardian ad litem may not be: (1) an interested person, as defined by Section 1002.018(1); or (2) an attorney ad litem appointed for the guardianship proceeding except as provided by Section 1054.052, 1202.101, or 1203.051.
