Section 54.536 - Fees for Student Health Services Building; the University of Texas At Austin(a) The board of regents of The University of Texas System may charge each student enrolled in The University of Texas at Austin a fee not to exceed $8 a semester or 12-week summer session, $6 a nine-week summer session, or $4 a six-week summer session. The fee may be used only for financing the renovation, improvement, maintenance, or replacement of the student health center building at the university or for operating the student health center.(b) The university shall collect the student health services building fee imposed under this section and deposit the money collected in an account to be known as the student health services building account. The money collected and placed in the account may be used only to: (1) finance the renovation, improvement, maintenance, or replacement of the student health center building and be pledged for the payment of obligations issued for those purposes; or(2) operate the student health center.(c) The student health services building fee imposed under this section shall not be counted in determining the maximum student services fee which may be charged to the students of The University of Texas at Austin under this subchapter.Amended by Acts 1999, 76th Leg., ch. 1558, Sec. 3, eff. 6/19/1999.Added by Acts 1990, 71st Leg., 6th C.S., ch. 20, Sec. 1, eff. 6/18/1990.
