Section 172.005 - Date Written Communications Received(a) Except as agreed by the parties, a written communication is received on the day that it is delivered:(1) to the addressee personally; or(2) at the addressee's place of business, habitual residence, or mailing address.(b) If a place described by Subsection (a) cannot be found after a reasonable inquiry, a written communication is received if it is sent to the addressee's last known place of business, habitual residence, or mailing address by registered mail or other means that provides a record of the attempt to deliver it.(c) This section does not apply to a written communication relating to a court proceeding.Tex.
