Section 62-2-203 - Certificates of appointment - Legal assistance - Attendance of witnesses - Seal - Rules - Continuing professional education(a) Each member appointed under § 62-2-201(a) shall receive a certificate of appointment from the governor, and no one shall be eligible for appointment who does not at the time hold an unexpired certificate to practice architecture, engineering or landscape architecture or certificate of registration to use the title "registered interior designer," except the first registered interior designer board member, issued under this chapter or other applicable law. Before beginning a term of office, each appointed member shall file with the secretary of state the oath of office.(b) The board or any committee of the board shall be entitled to the services of an assistant attorney general in connection with the affairs of the board, and the board shall have power to compel the attendance of witnesses on behalf of the state or any party having issue before the board, may administer oaths and may take testimony concerning all matters within its jurisdiction.(c) The board shall adopt and have an official seal, which shall be affixed to all certificates of registration granted, and shall make all bylaws and rules not inconsistent with the law.(d) The board has the authority to establish continuing professional education requirements for architects, engineers, landscape architects and registered interior designers. Any rules promulgated to effect this subsection (d) shall be promulgated in compliance with the Uniform Administrative Procedures Act, compiled in title 4, chapter 5.Acts 1979, ch. 263, § 4; T.C.A., § 62-204; Acts 1988, ch. 990, § 13; 1991, ch. 164, § 16; 1995, ch. 129, § 1; 1997 , ch. 33, § 7.
