Section 41621 - Hold-over officials; term and compensation; new treasurer and controller
(a) The mayor, the members of council, the treasurer and the controller in office at the time of the adoption of any charter plan provided by this act shall continue in office until the expiration of their terms and shall receive the compensation provided by law at that time. Any such officer may, by writing filed with the city treasurer, direct that any portion of his compensation be returned to the city treasury.
(b) If an elected city treasurer or city controller is in office at the time of the adoption of an optional charter plan under the provisions of this act, a treasurer or controller, as the case may be, shall not be elected to take office until after the resignation, death, removal or expiration of the term of said treasurer or controller.
