Section 16837 - Performance of powers and duties as convenient; wharves not to extend beyond line

It shall and may be lawful for the surveyors aforesaid, and they are hereby authorized and empowered, from time to time, as they shall see fit, to execute and perform the duties and powers enjoined in the foregoing section, in such parts and to such extent as to them shall seem convenient and necessary; and the plan or plans of any such part or parts of the survey of the said river, being from time to time returned, and in all respects proceeded upon in the manner prescribed by the first section of this act, shall, with respect to the part or parts therein comprehended, have the same force and effect as if one general plan had been made, returned and proceeded on as aforesaid; and no wharf or wharves shall at any time thereafter be extended further into the said river Schuylkill than the wharf line so designated: Provided, That nothing herein contained shall be construed to give authority to any person or persons to erect wharves or piers extending out as far as the said wharf lines so fixed and determined, without license from the board of wardens as heretofore.
