Section 895.1131 - Spouse(a)Authorization.--Notwithstanding any ordinance or any rule, regulation, procedure or policy of a municipal pension system to the contrary, an active member of a municipal pension system may designate the member's spouse to be the beneficiary of the member's pension, regardless of the date of the marriage.(b)Applicability.--The authorization under subsection (a) shall apply retroactively to designations made after December 31, 2006. 1984, Dec. 18, P.L. 1005, No. 205, § 1131, added 2009, Sept. 18, P.L. 396, No. 44, § 19, imd. effective.
