Section 310.5 - Application for insurance producer license(a) Individual application.--An applicant with a principal place of residence or business within this Commonwealth may apply to the department for a resident insurance producer license. An applicant with a principal place of residence or business outside this Commonwealth may apply for a nonresident insurance producer license. An applicant shall submit to the department: (1) a completed application indicating the lines of authority for which the applicant desires to be licensed;(2) the applicant's fingerprints, in order for the department to receive national criminal history records information from the Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Justice Information Services Division;(3) documentation verifying that the applicant passed or is exempt from the insurance producer licensing examination on the lines of authority for which the applicant desires a license; and(4) the required license fee and fees for obtaining national criminal history records information.(b) Business entity application.--Upon designating one or more individuals licensed under this act to be responsible for the business entity's compliance with the insurance laws and regulations of the Commonwealth, a business entity may apply to the department for an insurance producer license for the same lines of authority held by the designated licensees. A business entity with an office in this Commonwealth shall apply for a resident insurance producer license. A business entity that does not have an office in this Commonwealth shall apply for a nonresident insurance producer license. The designated licensees of the business entity shall submit to the department: (1) a completed application indicating the lines of authority for which the business entity desires to be licensed;(2) proof of the licenses held by the designated licensees; and(3) the required license fee.(c) License fee.--(1) Residents. A nonrefundable $55 fee shall accompany an application for a resident insurance producer license until modified by the department by regulation.(2) Nonresidents. A nonrefundable $110 fee shall accompany an application for a nonresident insurance producer license until modified by the department by regulation.1921, May 17, P.L. 789, art.
