Section 5191 - Penalties

Any person violating the provisions of this act shall, upon summary conviction before a mayor, burgess, magistrate, alderman or justice of the peace, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than one hundred dollars ($100) and costs of prosecution for each offense, and upon the nonpayment thereof shall undergo imprisonment in the county jail for a term of not more than thirty (30) days: Provided, That any person so convicted shall have the right of appeal as in other cases of summary conviction: Provided also, That the Commonwealth shall have the right of appeal to the appropriate appellate court in all prosecutions arising out of the violation of the provisions contained herein. The fines collected hereunder, except as otherwise provided by the Constitution, shall be paid into the treasury of the county.
