Section 1725 - Power of subpoena and attachment

The controller or auditors shall have power to issue subpoenas to obtain the attendance of the officers whose accounts they are required to adjust, their executors and administrators, and of any person whom it may be necessary to examine as witnesses, and to compel their attendance by attachment, in accordance with the Pennsylvania Rules of Civil Procedure, in like manner and to the same extent as any court of common pleas of this Commonwealth may or can do in cases pending before them, and also to compel in like manner the production of all books, vouchers and papers relative to such accounts. Such subpoena shall be served and executed by the sheriff or any constable of the county, as the case may require.
