Section 192.822 - Address Confidentiality Program; substitute addresses(1) The Address Confidentiality Program is established in the Department of Justice to: (a) Protect the confidentiality of the actual address of a health care provider or a victim of domestic violence, a sexual offense, stalking, bias or human trafficking; and(b) Prevent assailants or potential assailants of the health care provider or victim from finding the health care provider or victim through public records.(2) The Attorney General shall designate a substitute address for a program participant and act as the agent of the program participant for purposes of service of all legal process in this state and receiving and forwarding first-class, certified or registered mail.(3) The Attorney General is not required to forward any packages or mail other than first-class, certified or registered mail to the program participant.(4) The Attorney General is not required to track or otherwise maintain records of any mail received on behalf of a program participant unless the mail is certified or registered.Amended by 2023 Ch. 549,§ 9, eff. 1/1/2024.Amended by 2023 Ch. 228, § 42, eff. 7/13/2023. 2005 c. 821, § 2; 2009 c. 468, § 2
