Section 2C:58-29 - Violations considered offense; contempt proceedings

A violation by the respondent of an order issued pursuant to sections 4 or 5 of P.L. 2018, c. 35(C.2C:58-23 or C.2C:58-24) shall constitute an offense under subsection e. of N.J.S. 2C:29-9 and each order shall so state. All contempt proceedings conducted pursuant to N.J.S. 2C:29-9 involving an extreme risk protective order shall be heard by the Superior Court. All contempt proceedings brought pursuant to P.L. 2018, c. 35(C.2C:58-20 et al.) shall be made in accordance with the Rules of Court.
