Section 18A:37-31 - Compliance by nonpublic schools encourageda. Nonpublic schools are encouraged to comply with the provisions of the "Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act," P.L. 2002, c. 83(C.18A:37-13 et seq.), as amended and supplemented by P.L. 2010, c. 122(C.18A:37-13.1 et al.).b. In the case of a faith-based nonpublic school, no provision of the "Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act," P.L. 2002, c. 83(C.18A:37-13 et seq.), as amended and supplemented by P.L. 2010, c. 122(C.18A:37-13.1 et al.), shall be interpreted to prohibit or abridge the legitimate statement, expression or free exercise of the beliefs or tenets of that faith by the religious organization operating the school or by the school's faculty, staff, or student body.Added by L. 2010, c. 122,s. 29, eff. 1/5/2011 (see note). L. 2010, c. 122,s. 31, states, "This act shall take effect in the first school year following enactment, but the Commissioner of Education may take such anticipatory administrative action in advance thereof as shall be necessary for the implementation of this act."
