The commissioner may not approve more than four renaissance school projects in any one renaissance school district. The commissioner may approve no more than one renaissance school project with a dormitory and related facilities in any one renaissance school district. Nothing in this act shall prohibit a renaissance school project that provides an educational program for a grade range less than pre-K through 12 from expanding grade levels after the approval by the commissioner of the initial application.
