Section 41-3-4 - [Repealed Effective 7/1/2029] Chairman and vice-chairman; meetings; automatic termination of members' terms of office for nonattendance; compensation(1) There shall be a Chairman and Vice Chairman of the State Board of Health elected by and from its membership at the first meeting of the board; and the chairman shall be the presiding officer of the board. The chairman shall always be a physician member of the board. The board shall adopt rules and regulations governing times and places for meetings, and governing the manner of conducting its business. The board shall meet not less frequently than once each quarter, and at such other times as determined to be necessary. The term of office of any member who does not attend three (3) consecutive regular meetings of the board shall be automatically terminated, and the position shall be considered as vacant, except in cases of the serious illness of a board member or of his or her immediate family member.
