Section 780.183 - Representation of obligee by attorney general or private legal counsel(1) If this state is the initiating, responding, rendering, or registering state in proceedings under this act, and the prosecuting attorney, an attorney employed or contracted under section 10a(2), or the friend of the court neglects or refuses to represent the obligee, the attorney general may undertake the representation.(2) The obligee may be represented in any proceedings under this act by private legal counsel at the obligee's own expense.Amended by 2014, Act 371,s 5, eff. 3/17/2015.Add. 1985, Act 172, Eff. 3/1/1986.
