Section 333.20961 - Reciprocity(1) The department may grant a license under this part to a person who is licensed in another state at the time of application if the applicant provides evidence satisfactory to the department as to all of the following: (a) The applicant meets the requirements of this part and rules promulgated by the department for licensure.(b) There are no pending disciplinary proceedings against the applicant before a similar licensing agency of this or any other state or country.(c) If sanctions have been imposed against the applicant by a similar licensing agency of this or any other state or country based upon grounds that are substantially similar to those set forth in section 20165 or 20958, as determined by the department, the sanctions are not in force at the time of the application.(d) The other state maintains licensure standards equivalent to or more stringent than those of this state.(2) The department may make an independent inquiry to determine whether an applicant meets the requirements described in subsection (1)(b) and (c).Add. 1990, Act 179, Imd.
