Section 324.6303 - Definitions; E to N(1) "Emission control device" means a catalytic converter, thermal reactor, or other component part used by a vehicle manufacturer to reduce emissions or to comply with emission standards prescribed by regulations promulgated by the United States environmental protection agency under the clean air act.(2) "Initial inspection" means an inspection performed on a motor vehicle for the first time in a test cycle.(3) "Inspection" means testing of a motor vehicle for compliance with emission control requirements of this part and the clean air act.(4) "Maintenance" means the repair or adjustment of a motor vehicle to bring that motor vehicle into compliance with emission control requirements of this part and rules promulgated under this part.(5) "Motor vehicle" or "vehicle" means a self-propelled vehicle as defined in section 79 of the Michigan vehicle code, Act No. 300 of the Public Acts of 1949, being section 257.79 of the Michigan Compiled Laws, of 10,000 pounds or less gross vehicle weight, which is required to be registered for use upon the public streets and highways of this state under the Michigan vehicle code, Act No. 300 of the Public Acts of 1949, being sections 257.1 to 257.923 of the Michigan Compiled Laws. For purposes of this part, motor vehicle includes those vehicles owned by the government of the United States, this state, and any political subdivision of this state.(6) "National ambient air quality standards" means the air quality standards for outside air as established in the clean air act.Add. 1995, Act 60, Imd.
