§ 1852. Refusal of payment as evidence of knowledge

To make, extend, endorse, or deliver a check, draft, or order the payment of which is refused by the drawee for insufficiency of funds or lack of credit, shall constitute prima facie evidence of the knowledge of the drawer or endorser of the insufficiency of the funds or of the lack of credit.
