§ 2161. Powers of Department of Consumer Affairs

The Department of Consumer Affairs, created by virtue of §§ 341—341w of Title 3, is hereby empowered to implement the provisions of this chapter, according to the powers and faculties conferred on it by this chapter. To such effects, it shall be empowered to carry out any legal actions for the purpose of preventing violations to what is provided herein. Any person who violates this chapter shall be subject to the penalties established in §§ 341—341w of Title 3.

The Department of Consumer Affairs shall also be empowered to:

(a) Adopt the rules and regulations needed to implement this chapter, as well as to issue, amend, revoke or reconsider any resolutions or orders to such effect.

(b) Designate the generic names of the textile fibers or materials and the contents of the label pursuant to the provisions of the Federal Commerce Committee Act.

(c) Carry out inspections, analyses, tests and investigations regarding any fiber, material or product subject to the provisions of this chapter.
