Rule 16. Selection of assistants

In the exercise of the power granted to marshals by law to select their assistants, marshals shall preserve their freedom of opinion without the influence of any persons or groups. Assistant marshals shall discharge the same duties as marshals and must therefore be capable, competent, loyal. Marshals shall strive to make the selection that will guarantee the best public service.
