Section 20-34-3-23 - Charter school and accredited nonpublic school local school safety and emergency plans(a) Each charter school and state accredited nonpublic school shall adopt a local school safety and emergency plan that includes:(1) safety and emergency training and educational opportunities for school employees; and(2) periodic safety and emergency preparedness and evacuation drills.(b) Each charter school and state accredited nonpublic school shall provide a copy of the floor plans for each building located on the school's property that clearly indicates each exit, the interior rooms and hallways, and the location of any hazardous materials located in the building to the law enforcement agency and the fire department that have jurisdiction over the school.(c) If a charter school or state accredited nonpublic school has conducted critical incidence digital mapping as described in IC 10-21-1-1 for each school building located on the school's property, it may provide the critical incidence digital mapping information to:(1) the law enforcement agency and fire department that have jurisdiction over the mapped school buildings; and(2) the statewide 911 system described in IC 36-8-16.7-22 through the public safety answer point, or "PSAP", described in IC 36-8-16.7-20 that has jurisdiction over the mapped school buildings; to satisfy the requirement of subsection (b).
