Section 110 ILCS 661/6-55 - Excision of Unconstitutional and Ineffective Parts of Article

It is hereby declared that the Sections, clauses, sentences and parts of this Article are severable and are not matters of mutual essential inducement, and any of them may be excised by any court of competent jurisdiction if this Article would otherwise be unconstitutional or ineffective. It is the intention of this Article to confer upon the Board the whole or any part of the powers in this Article provided for, and if any one or more Sections, clauses, sentences and parts of this Article shall for any reason be questioned in any court of competent jurisdiction and shall be adjudged unconstitutional or invalid, such judgment shall not affect, impair or invalidate the remaining provisions thereof, but shall be confined in its operation to the specific provision or provisions so held unconstitutional or invalid, and the inapplicability or invalidity of any Section, clause, sentence or part of this Article in any one or more instances shall not be taken to affect or prejudice its applicability or validity in any other instance.
