Section 122C-212 - Discharges(a) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this section, an individual who has been voluntarily admitted to a facility shall be discharged upon the individual's own request. A request for discharge from a 24-hour facility shall be in writing.(b) An individual who has been voluntarily admitted to a 24-hour facility may be held for 72 hours after the individual's written application for discharge is submitted.N.C.
