Conn. Gen. Stat. § 30-68

Current with legislation from the 2024 Regular and Special Sessions.
Section 30-68 - Wholesale prices of wine

The provisions of this section shall apply to sales made on and after January 1, 1983. The wholesale prices of wine, bottled in this state, imported or domestic, whether sold under a brand name or private label, shall be filed with the Department of Consumer Protection as set forth in section 30-63, but such wine shall not be sold by a wholesaler to a retailer for less than minimum base cost. Minimum base cost shall be computed by adding the current selling price of wine in bulk in California, as set forth in the federal state market service news published by the United States Department of Agriculture, the charges necessary for transportation and delivery of wine in bulk into Connecticut, all federal and state taxes and the general prevailing cost of labels, containers, crowns, caps and seals. The wholesale prices of wine not bottled in this state, imported or domestic, whether sold under a brand name or private label, shall be filed with the department as set forth in section 30-63 but such wine shall not be sold by a wholesaler to a retailer at a price which is below the wholesaler's cost. For the purposes of this section, "cost" means

(1) the invoice price from the supplier to the wholesaler,
(2) all transportation charges from point of origin to point of destination, and
(3) all applicable federal and state taxes and duties.
