Section 2-71z - Contracts requiring written approval(a) Except as provided in subsection (b) or (c) of this section, the Office of Legislative Management shall not enter into any proposed contract of the legislative department pursuant to section 2-71p of the general statutes that has a value exceeding fifty thousand dollars unless such contract has (1) been submitted to the president pro tempore of the Senate, the speaker of the House of Representatives and the majority and minority leaders of the Senate and House of Representatives, and (2) obtained the written approval of a majority of the legislative leaders specified in subdivision (1) of this subsection, including the approval of at least one of the minority leaders. Said legislative leaders may approve the contract or take no action upon such contract.(b) If at least sixty days have elapsed since the submission of such contract to the legislative leaders in accordance with subsection (a) of this section and such contract has not been approved by a majority of the legislative leaders, including at least one of the minority leaders, such contract shall be deemed approved.(c) The provisions of this section shall not apply to emergency procurements under subsection (c) or (d) of section 2-71p of the general statutes.Added by P.A. 22-0118,S. 67 of the Connecticut Acts of the 2022 Regular Session, eff. 5/7/2022.
