The public employee retirement administration commission is hereby deemed to be an agency required to have access to criminal record offender information pursuant to clause (b) of section one hundred and seventy-two of chapter six. On at least an annual basis, the commission shall compare lists of all those receiving retirement allowances pursuant to sections six and seven with the information obtained pursuant to clause (b) of said section one hundred and seventy-two of chapter six. In the event said comparison gives the commission reason to believe that action should be taken in accordance with sections six or seven of this chapter, the commission shall notify the appropriate retirement board.
