Fla. Stat. § 30.01

Current through the 2024 Legislative Session
Section 30.01 - Bond of sheriffs; small counties

In each county of the state having a population of 150,000 or less according to the last state census, the sheriff shall give bond as required by the board of county commissioners of the county, to be filed with the clerk of the circuit court and be conditioned upon the faithful discharge of the duties of his or her office. When a sheriff is appointed to fill a vacancy, a bond may not be a prerequisite to succession in office; however, if the county commission requires a bond for the office of sheriff, the commission shall allow a period of 10 days after the effective date of the appointment in which the bond may be provided.
