Section 3720 - Practicing without a license; penalties(a) It is unlawful for a person who is not currently licensed as a speech/language pathologist, speech/language pathology assistant, audiologist, or dispenser of hearing aids under this chapter to do any of the following: (1) Engage in the practice of speech/language pathology, audiology, or dispensing of hearing aids.(2) Use in connection with that person's name, or otherwise assume or use any title or description conveying, or tending to convey, the impression that the person is qualified to practice speech/language pathology, audiology, or dispense hearing aids.(b) Anyone who violates subsection (a) of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor. (1) For a first offense, the court may impose a fine of not less than $500 dollars nor more than $1,000 dollars for each offense.(2) For a second or subsequent offense, the the court may impose a fine of not less than $1,000 nor more than $2,000 for each offense.(c) The Justice of the Peace Court has jurisdiction over all violations of this chapter.Amended by Laws 2023, ch. 418,s 1, eff. 9/19/2024.24 Del.
