(1) The director shall perform duties in connection with: (a) The creation and implementation of the terrorism preparedness plan described in section 24-33.5-1604; and(b) The prevention and detection of terrorist training activities described in section 18-9-120, C.R.S.(2) The director may promulgate, in accordance with article 4 of this title, any rules necessary to implement part 15 of this article and sections 24-33.5-1604 (2)(a), 24-33.5-1608, and 24-33.5-1609.(3) The powers vested in the director in this part 16 do not usurp or supersede the powers of fire chiefs, sheriffs, chiefs of police, or other law enforcement or fire protection agencies.(4) The director is entitled to all protections, defenses, and immunities provided by statute to safeguard a peace officer in the performance of official acts.Amended by 2014 Ch. 11, § 10, eff. 2/27/2014.L. 2002: Entire part added, p. 1209, § 6, effective June 3.
