Section 636.11 - Authority to act as surety - agent qualifications1. The commissioner of insurance shall annually file with the clerk of the district court of each county a complete list of the corporate sureties to whom the commissioner has issued a current certificate of authority to transact the business of a surety in this state.2. An agent for a company authorized to engage in the business of becoming surety upon bonds pursuant to subsection 1 must be a resident of this state for the purpose of acting on behalf of the surety company with respect to any bond or bail in criminal cases.88 Acts, ch 1034, §1; 91 Acts, ch 213, §33
