Section 41-1232.05 - Lobbyist registration; handbook; requirementA. A person who is listed by a principal or public body on a registration form pursuant to section 41-1232 or 41-1232.01 as a lobbyist for compensation, designated lobbyist or designated public lobbyist shall file a lobbyist registration form with the secretary of state in a format prescribed by the secretary of state no later than 5:00 p.m. on the second Monday in January of each even numbered year and shall read a handbook containing statutes and rules governing lobbyists for compensation, designated lobbyists and designated public lobbyists, written guidelines and forms and samples for completing the lobbyist disclosure forms. A person shall file the registration at any time beginning December 1 in the odd numbered year until 5:00 p.m. on the second Monday in January in the even numbered year. The lobbyist handbook shall be written and prescribed by the secretary of state. A person who is originally listed as a lobbyist for compensation, designated lobbyist or designated public lobbyist for a month other than January shall file, within thirty days, a registration form and shall file a registration form for January of each even numbered year thereafter if the person continues to be listed as a lobbyist for compensation, designated lobbyist or designated public lobbyist.B. The lobbyist registration form shall include:1. The name of the lobbyist for compensation, designated lobbyist or designated public lobbyist.2. The business name and address of the lobbyist for compensation, designated lobbyist or designated public lobbyist.3. A statement that the lobbyist for compensation, designated lobbyist or designated public lobbyist has read the lobbyist handbook prescribed in subsection A of this section.
