(a) Pursuant to Sections 55.0041 and 55.009 of the Occupations Code, the application and examination fees are waived for the following persons:(1) a military service member or military veteran whose military service, training, or education substantially meets all of the requirements of the certification, registration, or license for which the military service member or veteran applies; or(2) a military service member, military veteran, or military spouse who holds a current certification, registration, or license in good standing issued by another jurisdiction which has certification, registration, or licensing requirements that are substantially similar to the requirements enforced by the Commission.(b) Pursuant to Section 154.107 of the Government Code, the registration and renewal fees for a court reporting firm are waived if a certified court reporter submits to the Commission: (1) an affidavit swearing that the reporter owns more than 50 percent of the firm and maintains actual control of the firm; and(2) corroborating evidence, such as copies of tax forms and business entity filings, of ownership and actual control of the firm.Amended effective 6/16/2020; amended effective 9/1/2021; amended effective 11/17/2023.
