Rule 29 - Substitution of Parties(1) If a party dies after a case has been entered in this court, the personal representative of the deceased party may be substituted as a party on motion filed by the representative or by any party with the clerk of the supreme court. If the deceased party has no representative, any party may mention the death on the record, and proceedings shall then be had as the supreme court may direct.(2) When a public officer in his or her official capacity is a party to an appeal or other proceeding in the supreme court and during the pendency of the case he dies, resigns, or ceases to hold office, the officer's successor shall be automatically substituted as a party.Amended effective 7/1/2019.
