Rule 7.15 - Election of District Members of the Board of Governors(a) Members representing Bar Districts 1 through 15, inclusive, shall be elected for two-year terms, said terms terminating with the adjournment of the annual meeting of The Missouri Bar as hereinafter provided. Twenty members shall be elected in odd-numbered years for two-year terms, distributed as follows: one each for Districts 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 14 and 15; three from Districts 9 and 11 and four from District 12. Twenty members shall be elected in even-numbered years for two-year terms distributed as follows: one each from Districts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 10 and 13; two from District 8; four from District 9; three from District 11; and four from District 12.
(b) In districts where one member is to be elected, the candidate receiving the highest number of votes shall be declared elected. In Districts 8, 9, 11 and 12, where more than one member is to be elected in one year, those candidates receiving the highest number of votes shall be declared elected to fill the vacancies in each respective district.(c) In case of a tie vote, such tie shall be decided by lot.(d) Where vacancies on the Board of Governors are created by an amendment to this Rule 7, the election of members of the Board from the respective districts to fill such vacancies shall be conducted in the first election following the effective date of such amendment for which nominations to fill such vacancies can be made and filled by the first of July of such year. Where such vacancies caused by amendment of this Rule 7 initially involve serving a short term of one year the candidates obtaining the lowest number of cumulative votes who still qualify for election shall serve the shorter term and those candidates receiving the higher number of cumulative votes qualifying for election shall serve the longer terms in those districts where multiple terms are involved.Mo.
