Motions should be filed sparingly, only in good faith and when the issue cannot be otherwise resolved.
Specifically, a lawyer who manifests professional courtesy and civility:
(a) Engages in more than a mere pro forma effort to resolve the issue before filing a motion and, where appropriate, will certify in the motion the efforts to resolve the issue.(b) Does not engage in conduct that forces opposing counsel to file a motion and then not oppose the motion.Haw.
